Q:
The deck looks heavy, is it hard to flip up?

A: The deck is rather heavy - and you want it to be. The deck on Country Clipper mowers is heavy enough to mow in the toughest conditions and still give a nice clean cut and last for years.
Even with a heavy duty commercial grade deck, it's not that hard to flip up for most people in good health. To make it even easier, a variety of jacks are available (See the Accessories page), such as our Quick Jak. The largest model, the Boss, even has the option of a power lift, which lets you lift the biggest decks with the touch of a finger!

Just how does the deck flip up? We have a step-by-step illustrated guide and video on how the deck flips up.

Q:
I haven't heard of Country Clipper, how long have they been making mowers?

A: Country Clipper has been manufacturing zero turn lawn mowers for over 20 years. Country Clipper started out manufacturing zero turn mowers for Snapper for 15 years before developing their own Country Clipper line in 1996. For more information on the history of the company, see the "About Country Clipper" Page.

Q:
How does the Joystick work? Is it a true zero-turn control?

A:
The Joystick control on Country Clipper mowers is a mechanical control system. On the bottom of the joystick are two control arms. One of them goes directly to the right hydrostat, and the other is connected to a rod the goes to the other side of the mower and moves another control arm that is connected to the other hydrostat. When you move the joystick, you are moving steel arms that directly control the hydrostats, just like on a twin stick system, providing a true zero turn control system. The difference is the patented way the joystick moves the control arms that let you go where you point the joystick, providing a much more intuitive way to steer the mower than trying to remember which stick to push which direction to turn the way you want to turn.

Q:
I'm left handed, is the joystick going to be hard for me to use?

A:
The joystick is located on the right side of the mower, so this may be a concern for some. The owner here at DeMott Enterprises is left handed, and he is able to operate all of the mowers without any problems. The joystick control system is very easy to use, stop by and try it out for yourself. Also, the JaZee Pro is available with a joystick on the left hand side.
